Quantitative determination of major and minor phases in portland cements from X-ray diffraction patterns represented by fourier series

1971
Abstract A method is described for quantitative X-ray diffraction analysis of Portland cements using diffraction patterns represented by Fourier series. Theoretical background of the method is explained and the important formula given for weight fraction determination and for corrections of shifts and broadness of diffraction maxima. The procedure is illustrated on two clinker samples showing that weight fractions are obtained for all the modifications of clinker constituents, and not only for the four major phases.
