FDTD Modeling of Double Negative Metamaterials Characterized by High-Order Frequency-Dispersive Constitutive Parameters

2006
This paper presents an extension of this formulation that makes the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method suitable for the modeling of high-order dispersive double negative (DNG) media. The main advantage of the new technique is that it is able to directly model arbitrary high-order dispersive DNG media with minimum storage requirements. To illustrate the validity of the proposed formulation the propagation through a DNG slab has been simulated. The reflection coefficient computed shows good agreement with the exact solution
