Premix composition and thermal insulation for the thermal insulation material production

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a premix composition for insulation production of which fire resistance and thermal insulation is excellent, and of which the major component, organic micro-balloons, is prevented from scattering, and to provide an insulation. SOLUTION: The premix composition for insulation production includes at least the organic micro-balloon 4 having a thermal insulation property, a metal hydroxide-based flame-retardant inorganic particle 6 having higher specific gravity than the organic micro-balloon, and a binder 8 made of a synthetic resin having higher affinity to the organic micro-balloon than cement and a nature to become an emulsion by the addition of water, as major components, and a volume ratio of the organic micro-balloon to the total components is 70% or more. The flame-retardant inorganic particle having higher specific gravity than the organic micro-balloon is supported on a surface of the organic micro-balloon to produce a composite micro-balloon 2.
