ThispaperisanintroductiontoamorecomprehensivestudyoftheuseofPresent Perfect( PP )inthecolloquialspeechofSalamanca,andoftheusesitshareswith theSimplePastorIndefinitePreterit( PI ).Forthatpurpose,anoralanddiscursive corpus is presented. From the point of view of a critical and non reductionist lin guistic theory (“Linguistic of Facticity”), it is examined whether or not the classificationsofthemostquotedworksonthesubjectareadequatefortheusesdetected inourcorpus.Itisalsopointedoutthatsupposedcasesofgrammaticalizationof PP in the speech o f Salamanca must be examined in their real discursive context.
