Improving Time to Hospital Admission from the Pediatric Emergency Department at a Large Academic Children’s Center

INTRODUCTION: Increased lengths of stay in the emergency department (ED) correlate with decreased patient satisfaction and worse patient outcomes. The ED boarding time (time from admission order to ED departure) at an urban, academic, tertiary-care children’s hospital was 10% longer than the national benchmark.
