Steel Corrosion-Induced Concrete Cracking Model

A T CP − T CL model describing the relationship between the thickness of corrosion products-filled paste and that of the corrosion layer (CL) is proposed. Based on the T CP − T CL model, an improved corrosion-induced concrete cracking model is proposed that can consider the phenomena that CL accumulation and corrosion products filling pores occur simultaneously in concrete. The time from corrosion initiation to concrete surface cracking is discussed. Further improvements to the corrosion-induced cracking model are also discussed.
