Dissipative structures and spiral waves at laser light induced oxidation of metals

1989
Abstract Experimental results and theoretical considerations devoted to IR laser light induced structure formation at metal oxidation using both elliptical and spherical focusing circumstances are presented. Instabilities being found in thermal field variations are examined. Experimental results are explained in terms of hydrodynamical instabilities (Kelvin-Helmholtz and Cuette types).
