Clinical meaning of fetal echogenic intracardiac focus

Objective:To assess the clinical significance of fetal echogenic intracardiac focus.Methods:The message of fetal echogenic intracardiac focus found with systemic fetal ultrasonic examination in Nantong Maternal and Children Health Hospital from Jan.2008 to Dec.2008 collected,to analyzed the change of ultrasonic video and to follow the result.Results:48 cases of fetals with echogenic intracardiac focus were found.45 cases of them were isolated echogenic intracardiac focus,they disappeared or decreased in reinspection during 30w ～ 32w.3 cases of them were complicated echogenic intracardiac focus.1 case fetal was trisomy 21.Conclusion:Echogenic intracardiac focus is one of the marks of the marks of chromsomal abnormalities.Fetals with complicated echogenic intracardiac focus should be checked with Chromosome.
