Solution of the central field problem for a Duffin–Kemmer–Petiau vector boson

1994
In view of current interest in the use of the Duffin–Kemmer–Petiau (DKP) relativistic equation, the problem of the vector DKP boson in a central field is resolved and the system of first‐order coupled differential radial equations needed for an exact calculation of the eigenvalues as well as the full ten‐component spinor is derived. This is of practical importance for problems involving massive vector bosons in central fields. This formalism is applied to the free‐particle, spherically symmetric square well and Coulomb problems.
