Subjektive Adaptionsfähigkeit im Kontext der alternssensiblen Produktentwicklung

2014
Successful user involvement in user-centered product development should consider the motivational differences of older adults. We explored the influence of motivation when evaluating new technological products. We report findings based on the Subjective Technology Adaptivity Inventory – a measure of inter-individual differences in the motivation to use technology. Older adults participated in focus groups over a period of one year. Sessions involved the subjective evaluation of different technological products. Findings suggest that subjective technology adaptivity was associated with higher perceived usefulness of products. This association was stronger with increasing age. We discuss the findings with regard to the development of technological products for older adults.
