Jet impingement cooling for reliable high efficiency operation of 980 nm diode pumps at elevated temperatures

We report on the development of 980 nm diode lasers operating with high efficiency and which show little change in performance as the liquid coolant temperature increases from 20 to 50 °C. These results are enabled by the application of a novel jet impingement cooling approach.
