Building information modelling (BIM) forms a collaborative platform for construction professionals input at project onset. BIM proponents envisage an overall shift from traditional construction process to improve productivity and efficiency. This optimism is evident in Malaysian construction industry master plan and efforts in research on BIM geared towards improving penetration and implementation. People, process and technology present underlying, determining factors to sustainable BIM penetration. However, this paper extends and examines these factors within a BIM penetration model encompassing the reengineering drive and need for integrated within the construction industry. 120 questionnaires were derived from construction professionals (architects, quantity surveyors, engineers and contractors) currently utilising BIM in various stages of construction.
