Enhanced photocatalytic performance of TiO 2 @C nanosheets derived from two-dimensional Ti 2 CT x

Abstract In the present work, TiO 2 @C nanosheets are fabricated by high-energy ball milling of two-dimensional (2D) Ti 2 CT x . Here, Ti 2 CT x not only serves as titanium and carbon source, but also acts as structure-directing agent. It is found that TiO 2 nanoparticles are uniformly and closely dispersed on the single or few-layered carbon sheets in the as-prepared TiO 2 @C nanosheets. Compared to titanium dioxide P25, the TiO 2 @C nanosheets exhibit enhancing photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue (MB) dye in aqueous solution under UV-irradiation. In addition, the TiO 2 @C nanosheets also possess high photocatalytic stability.
