Development of the Imaging Plate for the Transmission Electron Microscope and Its Characteristics

1990
The new Imaging Plate (IP) and the new IP-reader whose sampling pixel size is 50 μm are developed for the transmission electron microscope (TEM). The structure of the new IP and the optical configuration of the new IP-reader are described. Effective area of the IP is 77 × 102 mm. This system has sensitivity higher than 10 −14 C/cm 2 , its dynamic range for an image is 4 decads and data have 4096 gray levels. As for the resolution, response of the IP to the electrons is studied as a function of spatial frequency. The dependence of sensitivity on accelerating voltage is also measured
