Comparisons of two samples of accidents

1983
Abstract Lahtela, J., Saari, J. and Piispanen, P., 1983. Comparisons of two samples of accidents. Journal of Occupational Accidents , 5: 177–184. Accidents that had occurred in ten printing plants within a six-month period were investigated using the accident diagram method developed by Institute National de la Recherche et de Securite in France. The results were compared with an independent study on mining accidents. The internal structures of the accidents were strikingly similar in the two branches, although the working conditions of these branches differ highly. This result suggests that it is possible to find a homogenous classification for accidents from completely different branches.
