Method and apparatus for virtualization of sound

A method and an apparatus for virtualization of sound are disclosed. The method to virtualize sound includes creating a virtual sound device; generating a virtual audio device based on an audio device; securing a mapping relation between a sound created by the virtual sound device and a sound output by the virtual audio device; securing a sound from a memory based on the mapping relation; and outputting the sound through each virtual audio device corresponding to the mapping relation. Therefore, multiple users can be provided with the sound.
