Study on Hepatic DNA Damage in Sebastiscus marmoratus Exposed to Tributyltin

2007
Hepatic DNA strand break in Sebastiscus marmoratus exposed to tributyltin(TBT)was measured by alkaline unwinding assay. The results showed that DNA damage of the liver increased as increasing TBT doses, after intraperitoneally injected with 0.5,1,5,10 mg/kg(Bm)TBT.There is a dose-dependent relation. In general, the hepatic DNA damage in fish exposed to waterborne TBT(1,10,100 ng/L as Sn)increased as extension of exposure time and increasing dose. The results suggest that hepatic DNA integrity would be a potential biomarker to monitor TBT pollution.
