APPLICATION OF 3-D CG TECHNOLOGY FOR ADIS EVALUATION
1993
This paper studies the issue of evaluting route guidance as a function of Advanced Driver Information Systems (ADIS). It presents a dynamic visual simulator using three-dimensional computer graphics technology to automatically generate road data from the ADIS database and display the view in front of the driver as seen from within the car. To enable the quantitative evaluation of factors that cannot be evaluated in the field, including accident analysis, the authors present a prototype enabling interactive, real-time operation, by reducing the number of faces.
