Effect of Lanthanum on Superoxidase Activity and Superoxidase Isozymes in Five Tissues of Cyprinus carpio Linnaeus

Cyprinus carpio Linnaeus was exposed in different concentration of lanthanum chloride solution for 120 d to study effect of La3+ on activities of SOD and isozymes of SOD in brain,muscle,liver and pancreas,kidney and gill of Cyprinus carpio Linnaeus.The results showed that activities of SOD were different between those tissues after a long-term treatment.Activities of SOD were significantly inhabited by lanthanum in liver and pancreas,muscle and gill in comparison with the control group.However,there was no significantly difference of SOD activities in brain and kidney between the treatment groups and control group.The results of PAGE indicated that lanthanum could affect activities of SOD isozymes in five tissues and cause the disappearing of SOD enzyme bands in liver and pancreas.
