Retratos do cotidiano: experiência junto aos educadores da Educação Infantil

2015
This is the description of one of the products of Curricular Activity Integration, Education, Extension and Research (ACIEPE) provided by the Occupational Therapy Department of the Federal University of Sao Carlos (UFSCar). The extension activity entitled "Child development from zero to six years of age and the role of occupational therapy" resulted in several products, one of these presented in this report. The aim was to discuss, through the day care center everyday life scenes, the perceptions of educators about child development. 49 teachers participated in the activity of municipal kindergarten and 20 graduate students in Occupational Therapy. Photographs were brought by educators to the meetings that address issues related to the themes worked in ACIEPE. It was suggested to teachers to write down their reflections about the photos and about the new knowledge that ACIEPE gave them about child development and how they could apply them in their routine. The pictures were analyzed and divided into three categories: "Play", "Pedagogical activities" and "Routine Activities." The results showed a positive joint action and exchange of experiences between teachers and Occupational Therapy undergraduate students; and enabled a new look before the spaces and activities in day care centers, enabling actions towards development observation, and focusing constructively on the training of teachers and on the improvement of child development.
