The Future Is Here: Experimental Models and Genetics in Brugada Phenocopy

Abstract Genetic basis of Brugada Phenocopies (BrP) is the future and first step of the understanding process to be investigated in the next generation of cardiogenetics area. We believe that the hypothesis can involve the ion channels expression genes modification by the genomics (environmental effect on gene expression) without genetically inherited penetrance entities to lead the ECG patterns identical to congenital Brugada Syndrome. In this chapter, we review some of the experimental canine model from potassium deficit that can produce electrical modifications to mimic ionic channel dysfunction, and the update of the genetic bases in Brugada Syndrome and the genomics model of Brugada Phenocopy.
