Neurotoxic Effects of 2-Chloroprocaine and Other Local Anesthetics, Rat

This report focuses on the lesions resulting from extraneural, in vivo application of clinical concentrations of pure local anesthetics. Needle trauma and injection of drug directly into nerves causes immediate nerve injury and magnifies the pathologic findings of the local anesthetics themselves which are reported below (Kalichman et 31. 1986a).
