A simple thin-layer chromatography-fluorodensitometric methodforquantitative analysis ofochratoxin A was developed. Thismethodproved tobeofusein investigating theproduction ofthetoxin andthenutritional factors affecting the toxin production bytwostrains ofAspergillus ochraceus isolated frommoldyrice inJapan. Thesefungi produced large amountsofochratoxin A ina nutrient solutioncontaining 1%L-phenylalanine and2% yeast extract.
