Políticas de Cooperación Panamericana en los 50 y 60: Recepciones, tradiciones y resistencias desde la revista Nuestra Arquitectura

2019
The boom in the policies of Pan American Cooperation of the 50s and 60s was not always accompanied by a reception in accordance with what was planned by international organizations. In Argentine, the arrival of cooperation policies will take flight after the fall of Peronism, and will accompany some speeches that seek to modernize the public professional practice. The first policies promoted by the Organization of American States would aim to train local technicians to promote programs that address the problems of popular housing. In this case, the training of professionals for the implementation of Mutual Assistance and Self-Enforcement policies for housing construction is deepened. This is an interesting case to explore, to see how certain traditions and dominant institutions in the field, despite aligning themselves with the discourses of international organizations, do not always receive and agree with the proposals without exercising resistance. This essay aims to review the case through the analysis of one of the specialized media, most important in the professional field at that time, the magazine Nuestra Arquitectura, between 1950 and 1963.
