Technology, Education, and Science International Conference (TESIC) Primary criteria for choosing façade type of buildings in Tehran

One of the main important parts of the buildings that have undeniable impacts on visual effects of city, the beauty of the buildings also people's emotions and feelings is building frontage. The following research has performed based on the date from a district of Tehran that specify the main type of building frontages as well assessing the factors that lead the contractors to choose a particular type of building envelope. This research has accomplished according to the data from 232 buildings has been built by 21 different contractors,architectures and construction experts. Based on the investigations, majority of respondents in the mentioned area have utilized different kinds of stone for their buildings frontages. In terms of frequency the second place belongs to the break. On the other side, cost, time of installation and the quality of implement is vital for the contractors.
