Inhibition of fertility in women

PURPOSE: To inhibit fertility in a woman by administering a compound of a specific formula as an active ingredient to a female human needing the compound. CONSTITUTION: This pharmaceutical composition contains a compound having the formula, a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or solvate thereof as an active ingredient. The compound of the formula is obtained by protecting a benzo[b]thiophene having 6-hydroxy and 2-(4-hydroxyphenyl) as a starting raw material, acylating and subsequently removing the protecting group. The salt of the compound of the formula is high solubility, and is suitable for preparing as a solution or emulsion. COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
