In this study, varicose vein phantom using vein mimic material and blood mimic fluid was suggested and fabricated. By sonicate the focused ultrasound to the fabricated phantom the changes of vein mimic material and bovine blood vein according to the sonication condition were monitored and compared. In addition, in order to simulate the varicose vein therapeutic environment more similarly, the thermal shrinkage according to the presence of flow were evaluated. As the experimental results, the thermal shrinkages of vein mimic material and bovine vessels were similarly observed, and the usefulness of proposed varicose vein phantom was confirmed. Consequently, the varicose vein phantom including the vein mimic material was thought to be useful to evaluate the ultrasonic varicose vein therapy.
