Left lateral lobectomy of liver in the treatment of hepatolith:analysis of 42 cases

Objective To analyze the clinical effects of left lateral lobectomy of liver in patients with hepatolith.Methods Forty-two patients with hepatolith were recruited in our hospital and received surgical treatment for left lateral lobectomy of liver.The prognosis and operative effects were analyzed in these patients.Results All 42 patients were treated with left lateral lobectomy of liver.The results demonstrated that 38 patients recovered after operation,1 self-discharged and 3 patients died((7.1%)).Post-operative complications included infection,bile leak and intra-liver stone residue.Conclusion Left lateral lobectomy of liver is effective in treating hepatolith.
