Some events of our history hurt us deeply, as rational and moral beings, without time or recurrence of (in)direct experiences being able to create addiction. But, how can we ensure this collective memory over time? How can we preserve it from ambiguous manipulations, in a world that is constantly attracted by indifference and banalization? The book focuses on the (still current) problem of the Shoah and offers a overview of Jewish vicissitudes and culture, which delves into the historical and ethical role of literature and art.
