Numerical simulation of viscous heating in hypersonic flow (Ma 6) is conducted before experiment to predict possible experimental time. The parameters in this simulation are material property, shape and attack angle. Steady state simulation is performed to expect temperature increase. Then convection and conduction conjugated transient simulation is conducted to analyze heat transfer phenomenon with time. The sus630 and cork are applied as test plate material with different thermal property. With test plate pre-heating at 100℃ and attack angle 15°, cork ablation experiment can be possible more than 15 seconds.
