A osteotomia de centralização da cabeça umeral, na luxação posterior do ombro, seqüela de paralisia obstétrica * Humeral head centering osteotomy for posterior shoulder dislocation due to obstetric palsy

2004
The authors describe an original, never published before, surgical technique, with no mention in the literature, for the treatment of humeral head posterior dislocation due to ob- stetric palsy. They present their experience in the correction of humeral head posterior dislocation with humeral head centering by internal derotation osteotomy, either associat- ed or not with Sever's procedure (lengthening and/or tenot- omy of pectoralis major or subscapularis muscles) in 16 patients with sequel of obstetric palsy, with a mean follow- up of three and a half years, comparing preoperative and postoperative shoulder range of motion. Results lead to the conclusion that such procedure is adequate for humeral head
