The last meeting

The week before Vadim Vladykov died three of us (Eugene Balon. Ed Kott and myself) visited him in his nursing home in Ottawa. We had been attending the annual meeting of the Canadian Conference for Fisheries Research and Eugene insisted we should see Vadim who was in failing health. The look of satisfaction on Vadim’s face when told about the plans to put together this anthology in honour of his 90th birthday would be the highlight of our visit.
