Effectiveness of convex ophthalmocompression in the course of combined preoperative treatment aimed at decrease of intraocular pressure before extracapsular cataract extraction with intraocular lens implantation

1997
: Two groups of patients with cataracts of different origin (a total of 110) are compared, in whom intraocular pressure was decreased by different methods before surgery: mechanical (convex compression) and combined (convex compression combined with hypotensive drugs). The decrease of intraocular pressure depended on the coefficient of intraocular fluid discharge easiness. Time course of intraocular pressure during and after convex compression is analyzed.
