Sea effects in the chiral quark soliton model

1990
Abstract We have performed a self-consistent calculation including the effects of negative-energy quark states on the meson fields in the framework of the chiral quark soliton model. Using a consequent renormalization of the scalar and pseudoscalar-isovector source densities, we have found that the quarks stabilize the soliton at radii smaller than the ones obtained in earlier calculations. The baryonic charge distribution shrinks to about 0.63 fm as compared to 0.71 fm in the MFA calculations.
