Correlation of bronchial artery intervention and vascular configuration with short-term treatment effects of central lung cancer

2020
Objective To explore the correlation bronchial artery intervention and vascular configuration with short-term treatment effects of central lung cancer. Methods The short-term effects of 69 patients with central lung cancer treated by bronchial artery intervention in our hospital were retrospectively analyzed. 39 patients, including 28 cases of hypervascular and 11 cases of hypovascular, were treated with "sandwich" bronchial artery chemoembolization; and the other 30 patients, including 21 cases of hypervascular and 9 cases of hypovascular, were treated with simple bronchial artery infusion chemotherapy. At the end of the course, the effects were regular assessed. Results Among the 39 patients, bronchial artery chemoembolization was effective in 29 patients, with a response rate (RR) of 74.36% (29/39)——and it was effective in 23 cases among the 28 hypervascular cases and in 6 cases among the 11 hypovascular cases. Among the 30 patients, bronchial artery infusion chemotherapy was effective in 14 patients, with a RR of 46.67% (14/30)——it was effective in 12 cases among the 21 hypervascular cases and in 2 cases among the 9 hypovascular cases. The results showed that bronchial artery chemoembolization had better effects than bronchial artery infusion chemotherapy in the treatment of central lung cancer, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05); bronchial artery chemoembolization and infusion chemotherapy had better effects in the treatment of hypervascular central lung cancer than hypovascular central lung cancer, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). No serious complications occurred during the treatment. Conclusion In terms of bronchial artery intervention for treating central lung cancer, chemoembolization is preferred, for it has good and quick effects and is more effective in the treatment of hypervascular lung cancer.
