Correlation study between preprocessing of the suction head polluted by blood and cyanoacrylate and cleaning effect

Objective To investigate whether cleaning effect is related with preprocessing of the suction head which is polluted by blood and cyanoacrylate after operation.Methods Craniotomy suction contaminated by blood and ear-brain glue pollution after operation was experimented by dividing into three groups with different ways.They were cleaned with ultrasonic cleaning machine according to the usual routine; then the lumen of suction head was brushed manually,and tested for patency with guide wire; lustration test was observed in 1 minute for 2 groups of suction head.The abovementioned routine was repeated for 15 times.Results 15 cases in the experimental group 1 were all negative and patent; 5 cases in the experimental group 2 showed mild blood residue,and suction lumen was not completely blocked; 7 cases in the control group showed mild blood residue,3 cases with moderate residue,no severe residue case,and suction lumen was not completely blocked.Conclusions The cleaning effect is significantly correlated with preprocessing of the suction head after operation; the cleaning effect of preprocessing method such as washing with medical acetone and immersing with enzyme is the best.
