SYNTHESIS OF 2-ARYL-1,2,3,4-TETRA-HYDROPYRIDO[2',3'/4,5]THIENO[2,3-B]QUINOLIN-4-O NES

The synthesis of a new tetracyclic condensed quinoline system is reported by a novel method. The method involves beta-enamino carbonyl compound as starting material to get 1[3-aminothieno[2, 3-b]quinolin-2yl]-3-aryl-2-propen-1-one, which in tum is cyclised to desired compound by an intramolecular Michael addition of the amino group to the alpha,beta-unsaturated moiety.
