A facet method for EM backscattering from high-state sea surface with foam

To obtain the electromagnetic (EM) backscattering from high sea state and super electrically large sea surface, facet method based on integral equation method (IEM) is proposed in this paper. Aiming at the phenomenon of sea surface foam under high sea state, this paper adopts the idea of surface facet and determines the dielectric constant of sea surface facet according to the foam distribution. For the non foam area, IEM is directly used. For foam area, foam is regarded as a layered medium. The EM scattering echo of sea surface in foam area is calculated by using IEM based on multilayer medium calculation method. Finally, the EM backscattering echo of the whole high sea area is obtained by facet method. Through simulation, it is found that the EM scattering coefficient of sea surface in foam area is larger than that in non foam area, and the echo of the whole area increases with the increase of wind speed.
