System and method for current sensing in a switching power supply

According to one embodiment a method of operating a switching power supply comprises applying a periodic switching signal to a first switch coupled to an output node, detecting a skew delay between the periodic switching signal and a change in the voltage of the output node, calculating a corrected center point of a semi-phase of the periodic switching signal based on the offset delay, generating a sampling pulse on the basis of the corrected center point and sampling a current at the output node in accordance with the scan pulse.
