New methods of modifying the surface of chemical fibres to decrease wettability

1999
The effectiveness of using latexes of polymers with a composite particle structure for decreasing the wettability of fibres was investigated. It was found that systems prepared by mixing poly-(1, 1-dihydroperfluoroheptyl acrylate) (PPHA) (LFM-3) with the latexes of unfluorinated polymers can be used to decrease the wettability of viscose fibres and materials made from them, and the maximum effect of decreasing the wettability is attained when a mixture of LFM-3 and SKD-1 is used in the ratio of 60:40 wt. %.
