The implementation of (ultra-low dose) CT protocols in PET/CT

2013
Computed tomography (CT) is celebrating over 40 years of development. The number of CT units and examinations has rapidly increased all over the world. The use of CT in medicine is now firmly established and represents one of the more important radiologic procedures performed. However, there are more and more concerns regarding the radiation dose associated with CT scans. To accurately assess radiation risks and keep radiation doses as low as reasonably achievable, radiology departments must be knowledgeable about the doses delivered during various types of CT studies performed on patients.
