Improvement of irradiation uniformity of new GEKKO XII‐partially coherent light and power balance‐

New GEKKO XII glass laser system has been improved by the precision project of the power balance with the partially coherent light (PCL) source to attain a few percent nonuniformity of the spherical irradiation of the pellet in a directly driven implosion scheme. The technical issues for balancing the twelve beam intensity and the theoretical treatment of the PCL optics are summarized.
