Comparison of the British, German and Netherlands indices and of the admissable national limits of aircraft noise nuisance

Because of the different structure of the British, German and Netherlands indices of aircraft noise exposure it is not possible to present generally applicable relations between these indices. In a number of cases, which are more closely defined, it has, hovjever, been possible to make a comparison. In this report the results of such a comparison are presented for various cases prevailing at Schiphol Airport. Prom the investigation it follows that in all cases considered the proposed Netherlands limits (B = 4O resp. 45 Kosten units) are exceeded sooner than the British and German limits.
