The Insertion of Migrants into the Labour Force of Receiving Countries: Competition or Complementarity?

This chapter addresses the insertion of migrants into the labour markets of receiving countries. The objective is to assess the political economy debate on whether migrant labour is competing with the local labour force for jobs or whether, in fact, migrant labour is complementing the local labour force.
