Effect of Activator Protein on Cucumber Growth and the Activities of Dehydrogenase, Peroxidase and Phenylalanine Ammonia Lyase

2005
The growth of cucumber radicle and the activity of dehydrogenase, peroxidase, phenylalanine ammonia lyase and proline were tested with cucumber seeds and leaves treated with 30mg·L~(-1) of activator proteins. The results showed that the activity of radicle dehydrogenase increased 29.62% after 12 h of treatment and the length of radicle increased significantly compared to control plants after 24 h and 36 h of treatment. The activity of the peroxidase and phenylalanine ammonia lyase increased 248.73% and 15.36% at 1.5 h and 4 days after treatment of leaves, respectively. The amount of proline increased 44.61% at 1.5 h after treatment of cotyledon.
