Objective : This study was to investigate the status of self-driving and perception of the driver's license management system in the community elderly. Method : We conducted a survey on 124 older with driver's licenses residing in the community. The questionnaires of a total of 93 respondents were analyzed. Result : 76 respondents(81.7%) said they are driving. As for the driving frequency, one or two times a week was followed by 26(34.2%). From 9 am to 6 pm, driving during the daytime was the most common with 61 people(80.3%). 38 respondents(50%) answered that the most difficult part of driving was decreased vision, and 35 respondents(46.1%) answered that they would cease driving “When a disease or disorder occurs”. Among the diseases that can affect driving, the most common diseases have hypertension(37.6%) and diabetes(30.1%). As a result of confirming consent to the voluntary return of driver's license, driving function test, and traffic safety education, the return of driver's license had a higher percentage of disagreement(78.5%). On the other hand, driving function test and traffic safety education were more likely to agree. Conclusion : This study confirmed the current status of the elderly drivers' self-driving in the local community and their perception of the new driver's license management system. The results of this study will be necessary to find a direction to promote safe driving of elderly drivers.
