El dolor neuropatico periferico (DNP) es un grupo complejo de sindromes dolorosos, en el que se involucran distintas causas y mecanismos patogenicos2; es el mas frecuente en la practica clinica habitual, pero tiene un dificil abordaje terapeutico. Presentamos el caso de una paciente con diagnostico de dolor cronico posquirurgico que cumplia criterios de DNP. EnglishAccording to the definition of the International Society for the Study of Pain (IASP), Neuropathic pain (NP) is that which appears at the level of the peripheral or central somatosensory system after an injury or illness. While it may be acute, it is chronic in most patients. Peripheral neuropathic pain (PNP) is a complex group of painful syndromes, in which different causes and pathogenic mechanisms are involved; it is the most frequent in common clinical practice but it has a difficult therapeutic approach. We present the case of a patient with a chronic postoperative pain diagnosis who met the PNP criteria.
