An unusual foreign body in the soft palate

We report a rare case of anisakiasis in the soft palate. A 35-year-old man presented with sore throat. He had ingested raw squid, ikasoumen, a few hours before the onset of the symptom. Examination with a flexible fiberscope disclosed an anisakis larval worm in the soft palate, which was removed with a forceps. Subsequently, the pain resolved rapidly.
