The main purpose of this article is to orient and reorient epistemologically and methodologically historical-historiographic research in the field of Education. In this way, this writing continues demonstrating and debating, although not in a watertight way, the main structuring and structuring elements that researchers must systematically include in the construction of scientific research in Education. This writing discusses the main paradigms that involve the different scientific fields with their respective methods, techniques and research epistemologies. Finally, it is noted that this article brings to the surface the discussion, although succinctly, the quarrel between the qualitative and quantitative approaches. In conclusion, the present text leaves that the composition of a scientific work obeys to criteria, technical norms and academic-scientific in the different and different areas of knowledge.
