Fabrication of hierarchical hollow Mn doped Ni(OH)2 nanostructures with enhanced catalytic activity towards electrochemical oxidation of methanol

Abstract Hierarchical hollow Mn doped Ni(OH) 2 nanostructures are successfully synthesized through a well-design sacrificial templating method. As-prepared non-precious metal nanostructures modified electrode exhibits high and stable catalytic activity, and fast electrochemical kinetics. The enhanced performance is associated to the introduction of Mn to Ni(OH) 2 , which promotes the high oxidation state of Ni and improves the system conductivity, and the hollow structure.
